What a weekend for Torero football!

Our team kicked off the season with an electrifying 27-21 victory against Cal Poly, and we couldn't be more proud.

This win wasn't just about the scoreboard – it was a testament to the incredible support from our Torero community and how you all are already shaping a brighter future for our teams through NIL!

Game Highlights

• A sold-out crowd of 5,792 fans packed Torero Stadium

• Three game-changing interceptions, including two pick-sixes by Trey Ortega and Matt Ballentine

• Quarterback Grant Sergent completed 15 of 24 passes for 154 yards

• Running back Matt Colombo logged 15 rushes for 88 yards with three receptions for 14 yards

• The Toreros racked up 337 yards of total offense

Head Coach Brandon Moore praised the team's energy, particularly highlighting the secondary's performance: "Whenever you can score two touchdowns on defense, it's hard to lose. Those guys just continued to come through, battle back, and then contested most of the throws."

This event, created by Coach Brock Ungricht and donor John Gentillon, aims to raise funds and bring the Torero community together. Join us for a day of golf and support USD Baseball's future success.
